Gangnam-gu Yeoksam 2-dong Community Center Closed Through Weekend

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] On the 10th, an additional COVID-19 case was confirmed in Gangnam-gu, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Gangnam-gu to 88.

A 66-year-old man residing in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, came into contact with a confirmed case from Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 25th of last month. He had been in self-quarantine for two weeks and tested positive in a specimen test conducted on the 9th, immediately after his quarantine was lifted.

Gangnam-gu conducted disinfection of facilities visited according to the confirmed patient's residence and movement path, and is currently conducting a detailed epidemiological investigation to identify additional contacts.

In particular, it was confirmed that the confirmed patient visited the Yeoksam 2-dong Community Service Center the day before after completing the specimen test, so Gangnam-gu immediately disinfected and closed the center.

The Yeoksam 2-dong Community Service Center will remain closed from the day before through the weekend and is scheduled to resume normal operations from the 13th.

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters decided to implement strengthened quarantine rules from 6 p.m. on the same day to prevent the spread of COVID-19, prohibiting small gatherings, events, and group meals outside of regular church services, and introducing an electronic entry log system using QR codes.
