[Asia Economy Reporter Wondara] On the second day after the funeral hall for Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon was set up, on the 11th, visitors continued to pay their respects at the funeral hall of Seoul National University Hospital in Yeongeon-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Cardinal Yeom Soo-jung, Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul, visited the funeral hall around 10 a.m. that day to offer condolences. After paying respects, Cardinal Yeom said, "It is truly unfortunate that Mayor Park suddenly passed away," and added, "I comforted the bereaved family and prayed for the deceased."

He continued, "We prayed for each other and helped each other so that Seoul City would prosper." During his tenure as mayor, Park visited the Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul several times and met with Cardinal Yeom.

Choi Jang-jip, Honorary Professor at Korea University, also spoke to reporters after paying respects, saying, "I believe he answered everything through his death," and added, "That is why I came to pay my respects." He also said, "I was very shocked," trailing off with, "There is still much to be done ahead; it didn't have to be like this."

In addition, Chung Mong-joon, Chairman of the Asan Foundation; Kim Hyun-mi, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport; Park Nam-chun, Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City; Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business; Seo Jeong-hyeop, Acting Mayor of Seoul (First Deputy Mayor for Administration); and Nam In-soon, Democratic Party lawmaker, visited the funeral hall that day. Ambassadors from Canada, Myanmar, and other countries also visited the funeral hall that morning.

The funeral hall only allows visits from Mayor Park's acquaintances and family, while general citizens can pay their respects at the incense altar set up in front of Seoul City Hall starting from 11 a.m. that day. Although the funeral will be held as a 'Seoul Special Mayor,' specific funeral procedures have not yet been decided.

Meanwhile, Park Won-soon's son, Park Ju-shin, who is currently abroad, is expected to arrive through Incheon International Airport that afternoon. So far, Park Hong-geun, a Democratic Party lawmaker known as Mayor Park's close aide, is serving as the chief mourner and is with the bereaved family.
