Suncheon City Council Opens the 244th Extraordinary Session

2020 Business Promotion Status Report Implementation

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The 8th term second half Suncheon City Council (Chairman Heo Yoo-in), which adopted the new slogan "A Warm Council Walking Together with Citizens," held the 244th extraordinary session on the 10th and began the first session schedule of the second half.

Before the opening, the inauguration ceremony of Chairman Heo Yoo-in, who will lead the second half of the Suncheon City Council, was held. Due to the recent spread of COVID-19 in the local community, the ceremony was conducted briefly for about 10 minutes, including the presentation of congratulatory flower bouquets and the reading of the inauguration speech.

The extraordinary session, which will be held for eight days from the 10th to the 17th, will review 20 ordinances and general agenda items, including the 2020 business promotion status report and the "Suncheon City Ordinance on the Promotion and Management of Private Consignment of Suncheon City Affairs (Complete Revision Ordinance Proposal)."

Chairman Heo Yoo-in stated in his opening remarks, "The Suncheon City Council will always communicate with citizens with an open attitude and become a warm council that walks together," and pledged, "We will dedicate and serve for the development of Suncheon City and the happiness of Suncheon citizens through reasonable monitoring and checks on city administration, productive proposal of alternatives, and cooperation."

Meanwhile, through the 243rd extraordinary session, the Suncheon City Council elected the chairman and vice-chairman who will lead the council for the next two years: Chairman Heo Yoo-in, Vice Chairman Park Gye-su, as well as Lee Young-ran, Chair of the Council Operation Committee; Yoo Young-gap, Chair of the Administrative Autonomy Committee; Nam Jeong-ok, Chair of the Culture and Economy Committee; and Kim Mi-yeon, Chair of the Urban Construction Committee.
