For Babies Born After January 1 This Year... Existing 10 Million Won → 20 Million Won
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Namwon City, Jeonbuk Province, will expand the congratulatory birth allowance for the fourth child to 20 million won.
On the 10th, the city announced that it has amended the ordinance on birth support and will increase the congratulatory birth allowance for the fourth child or more born after January 1 of this year from the existing 10 million won to 20 million won.
The congratulatory birth allowance for the fourth child or more is paid as a lump sum of 5 million won upon the first application and then paid in installments of 3 million won annually for five years.
This birth allowance payment plan actively reflects citizens' opinions by substituting 1 million won in Namwon Love Gift Certificates for each payment installment.
Also, the fourth child born before the ordinance amendment will be retroactively paid with Namwon Love Gift Certificates.
To be eligible for the birth congratulatory allowance, either the father or mother of the newborn must have resided in Namwon City for more than one year, and in the case of families with the second child or more, all siblings of the newborn must have their residence registered in Namwon City.
The congratulatory birth allowance for the first to third child remains the same as before. The first child receives 2 million won, the second child 5 million won, and the third child 10 million won, paid in installments.
The city also supports the purchase of birth congratulatory goods worth 100,000 won for all newborns at the time of birth registration, and additionally supports the purchase of childcare goods worth 250,000 won for the third child or more.
