Mujugun Health Center, 'New Renovation' for a Comfortable Environment

Remodeling to Begin from the 13th Until November

According to Muju County on the 10th, starting from the 13th, construction work to improve medical services will be carried out with the goal of completion by November to create a pleasant health and medical environment along with high-quality medical services.

It is also being promoted as part of the rural medical service improvement project to improve the poor health and medical environment in rural fishing and farming areas and to enhance accessibility to health and medical services.

After applying for the Ministry of Health and Welfare project in 2019, this year, 970 million KRW (including 650 million KRW in national funds) has been secured for construction costs, and remodeling of the health center’s cafeteria, the 3rd floor ward, the mental health welfare center, and the 6th floor conference room will begin.

In collaboration with the supervising department, the Construction and Facility Support Team, the plan is to carry out safe and flawless construction, and once the interior remodeling is completed in November, it is expected to welcome visitors with optimal in-hospital spaces and facilities.

Prior to this, in 2019, the county invested local funds to mainly renovate the first floor used by visitors, including outpatient clinics (internal medicine, orthopedics, rehabilitation medicine, surgery), emergency room, male and female restrooms, restrooms for the disabled, and shuttle bus waiting areas, contributing to improving resident convenience and satisfaction with the health center.

A Muju County Health and Medical Center official said, “Through the medical service improvement construction at the health center, we plan to build infrastructure for the aging health institution to provide high-quality medical services, and we will do our best to complete the construction so that local residents can use the health center comfortably without inconvenience.”
