The 2nd High School Equivalency Exam This Year Will Be Held Over 5 Days from the 13th to 17th... Online Registration Open 24 Hours
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The application distribution and registration for the second GED exam of the year will be conducted both online and offline for five days from the 13th to the 17th.
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 10th that online registration can be done 24 hours a day using a personal digital certificate through the NEIS GED service, and on-site registration will be available at the outdoor registration area of the annex building of the City Office of Education from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the registration period.
To prevent COVID-19 infection, the City Office of Education will set up a canopy tent outdoors at the annex to create a registration site, where entrants will be required to wear masks, use hand sanitizer, undergo temperature checks, and fill out a visit log at the entrance before entering.
Additionally, applicants will be required to wear latex gloves while filling out the application, and social distancing between registrants will be maintained. Applicants showing symptoms such as fever or respiratory issues will be registered at a separate location.
A representative from the Busan Office of Education stated, “The outdoor registration site is an unavoidable measure to ensure the safety of applicants and prevent community spread,” and urged, “Please actively use online registration as much as possible.”
For regional balance and the safety of examinees, the City Office of Education will set up testing centers at Yeonil Middle School for the elementary-level GED, and at Yeonil Middle School and Dongbaek Middle School for the middle-level GED.
For the high school-level GED, testing centers will be established at Geumyang Middle School (Test Center 1), Daeyeon Middle School (Test Center 2), Hwasein Middle School (Test Center 3), Dadae Middle School (Test Center 4), and Singok Middle School (Test Center 5). Additionally, testing centers will be set up at Busan Prison and Oryun Information Industry School (Busan Juvenile Detention Center).
The GED exam will be held on August 22, and successful candidates will be announced on September 11 at 10 a.m. on the City Office of Education’s website.
