‘Island Resom (formerly Resom Ocean Castle)’ by Hoban Construction Group has newly emerged on Anmyeondo, one of the top three sunset spots.
Hoban Hotel & Resort of Hoban Construction Group announced that Island Resom on Anmyeondo, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, has completed a large-scale renovation and held a grand opening on the 10th.
At the opening ceremony, local figures including Lee Woo-sung, Vice Governor for Culture and Sports of Chungcheongnam-do, Ga Se-ro, Mayor of Taean-gun, Park Yong-sung, Taean-gun Council member, as well as Hoban Construction Group officials such as Kim Sang-yeol, Chairman of Hoban Group, Woo Hyun-hee, Chairman of Taeseong Cultural Foundation, Choi Seung-nam, Vice Chairman of Hoban Group, Song Jong-min, President of Hoban Construction, and Lim Chung-hwan, representative of Resom Resort members and members attended.
In preparation for the spread of COVID-19, the event minimized the number of attendees and was conducted while checking attendees’ temperatures, wearing masks, and maintaining social distancing.
Lee Woo-sung, Vice Governor for Culture and Sports of Chungcheongnam-do, stated, “The newly renovated Island Resom is expected to become a premium tourism platform for Taean and Chungcheongnam-do.” He added, “I hope the West Coast tourism industry will take a leap forward through the development of Island Resom and the local region.”
Choi Seung-nam, Vice Chairman of Hoban Construction Group, said in his greeting, “I sincerely thank everyone who worked hard to allow Island Resom to complete its renovation and reopen splendidly.” He continued, “Although the tourism industry is facing a great crisis due to COVID-19, we will continue to strive to become the best luxury resort by communicating with the local community and contributing to revitalizing the local economy.”
The newly reborn Island Resom is located within Taeanhaean National Park. The rooms consist of 200 Ocean Tower rooms in a tower-type resort and 48 Ocean Villas in a villa-type resort, totaling 248 rooms, ranging from 18 pyeong to 73 pyeong in size. All 248 rooms have been transformed into stylish resting spaces with modern and simple interiors that highlight their unique features.
Facilities have also been greatly enhanced. Newly introduced are an outdoor beach lounge directly connected to Ggotji Beach, Sunset House, and an infinity pool spa. Especially, the infinity pool spa facing the sea offers a vivid view of the sunset at Ggotji Beach, one of the best tourist attractions on the West Coast. Additionally, guests can enjoy a seawater sauna sourced from a 420m deep underground rock spring, an indoor swimming pool, an event bath, and a kids’ pool.
Moreover, a complex cultural space, photo studio, and kids’ zone have been prepared, and banquet hall facilities have been upgraded. Famous restaurants featured in the Michelin Guide have also opened, expected to captivate gourmets’ tastes.
Meanwhile, on the same day, the ‘Stay Tower’ of ‘Splash Resom (formerly Resom Spa Castle)’ in Yesan-gun, Chungnam, also reopened after renewal. The restaurant, cafe, and banquet hall were fully renovated, and the 272 rooms were made more comfortable. Since acquiring Hoban Hotel & Resort in 2018, Hoban Construction Group has been conducting extensive renovations including upgrading facilities and improving services across all business sites. Hoban Construction Group has expressed its ambition to lead the Resort 3.0 era by strengthening culture, experiential content, and services beyond simple facility improvements.
