[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyungpil] Nohwa-eup, Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced on the 10th that, with the help of senior citizens participating in elderly job programs, 2,500 moss phlox plants were planted in two small parks in Nohwa-eup.
They created an environment where residents, struggling due to the resurgence of COVID-19, can smile while looking at the beautifully blooming flowers.
A Nohwa-eup official said, “Village residents worked while wearing masks and observing social distancing in the hot weather,” and added, “We hope that the residents of Nohwa, who are having a hard time due to COVID-19, will overcome difficulties together by smiling at the flowers.”
Choo Gyo-hoon, mayor of Nohwa-eup, said, “I thank the senior citizens participating in the elderly job program who joined the flower planting to overcome COVID-19 with one heart and one mind during these difficult times,” and added, “The administration will also actively strive to make Nohwa-eup more beautiful in the future.”
