[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Forest Service announced on the 10th that it will accept applications for designation as a wood education expert training institution from the 13th to the 17th.
Eligible applicants include 'universities' under the Higher Education Act, 'corporations' under the Civil Act, 'companies' under the Commercial Act, non-profit private organizations under the Act on Support for Non-Profit Private Organizations, and institutions operated by the state or local governments.
The wood education expert training institution is the only institution authorized to produce wood education experts, who can then work at wood culture experience centers and other wood experience and education facilities.
Institutions wishing to be designated must meet the requirements stipulated in the Act on Sustainable Use of Wood, including personnel, facilities, and curriculum, and submit an application to the Korea Forest Service by mail.
After the application period ends, the Korea Forest Service will make a final decision and announce it at the end of next month following a written review by experts, an on-site inspection, and deliberation by the Korea Forest Service Wood Utilization Committee.
Detailed information on designation requirements, submission documents, and application methods can be found on the Korea Forest Service website.
Im Young-seok, head of the Wood Industry Division at the Korea Forest Service, said, “By operating wood education expert training institutions, we aim to produce a large number of professionals in the wood education field to expand the use of wood in daily life.”
