On the 10th, former leader Hong said on Facebook, "I hope there will be no further damage to the honor of the deceased."

He recalled their relationship, saying, "Although he was a junior from my hometown Changnyeong, Gyeongnam, he was two years senior in the civil service exam, so we had friendly senior-junior debates with smiles, but we always walked different paths due to differing thoughts."

Former leader Hong expressed his condolences, saying, "There was a joke that the next presidential election might become the Changnyeong County governor election, and I recently looked favorably on his active presidential campaign. But he left so tragically. Rest in peace peacefully."
