Gradual Supply by 2025
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongju City, Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 10th that it has officially started construction to supply a wide-area water supply system throughout Sannae-myeon.
The Sannae-myeon wide-area water supply expansion project is being promoted with a total project cost of 41.6 billion KRW (28 billion KRW national funds, 3.6 billion KRW provincial funds, 10 billion KRW city funds), aiming for supply in 2025, following the Ministry of Environment's approval of the partial amendment to the basic water supply maintenance plan and the basic and detailed design service.
This is a large-scale project involving a total water pipeline length of 137 km, as well as the installation of one water storage facility and 40 pumping and distribution pressure stations. This year, with a secured budget of 4 billion KRW, the construction will prioritize the installation of 5.7 km of transmission pipelines and 6.4 km of distribution pipelines. The project will proceed by securing budgets annually in the future.
Through this water supply expansion project, more than 2,500 residents in Sannae-myeon and the Songseon-ri area of Geoncheon-eup, who were using 54 small-scale water facilities sourced from groundwater and surface water, will benefit.
Mayor Joo Nak-young of Gyeongju said, "We will devote even more effort to safe construction to avoid inconveniences such as road traffic during the construction period," and asked for the active cooperation of residents.
