Korean Standards Association Registered as an Accelerator Institution by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Standards Association (President Lee Sang-jin) announced on the 10th that it has been registered as an accelerator institution under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in accordance with the Small and Medium Enterprise Startup Support Act.

An accelerator under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups refers to a specialized startup promotion institution that discovers early-stage startups and provides comprehensive incubation services such as angel investment, business space provision, and mentoring.

The association is leading a pre-startup package that nurtures and supports prospective entrepreneurs in the fields of smart factories and blockchain to secure startup nurturing capabilities, and has established a network with domestic and international investment institutions such as Bluepoint Partners, Plan H Ventures, and Draper Athena.

In the second half of the year, it plans to provide educational support in collaboration with global IT giants to enhance the specialized technical capabilities of startups in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). Going forward, the Korea Standards Association will continue to discover innovative technology startups by utilizing the infrastructure and networks it possesses.

President Lee Sang-jin stated, "With this accelerator registration as a starting point, we will discover and nurture unicorn startups in the Fourth Industrial Revolution sector and play a pivotal role in Korea's digital transformation."
