Andong City Sports Council, Gyeongbuk Northern Amateur Baseball League ... 34 Teams Participate

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Andong City announced on the 10th that the '2020 Gyeongbuk Northern Amateur Baseball League,' which was postponed due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), will be held for 48 days from the 11th until the end of the year at Yongsang Life Sports Park Baseball Stadium.

The tournament, hosted by the Andong City Sports Council and organized by the Andong City Baseball Softball Association, will feature about 1,000 participants from 34 teams in northern Gyeongbuk (28 teams from Andong, 2 teams from Yeongju, and 4 teams from Cheongsong).

To eliminate the risk factors of COVID-19 infection, the tournament will be held without spectators. According to Andong City, thorough quarantine measures such as stadium disinfection, temperature checks, and visitor log registration will be implemented to ensure a safe event.

An official from Andong City stated, "Since the tournament is being held despite the difficult situation caused by COVID-19, we will do our best to ensure the event is conducted safely through strict quarantine measures and adherence to COVID-19 behavioral guidelines," adding, "This tournament will serve as an opportunity to revitalize the baseball activities of baseball enthusiasts who have been restrained until now."
