[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Online video service (OTT) Wavve announced on the 10th that it will release the entire drama series 'SF8' produced in-house.
SF8 is Korea's first film and drama crossover project, invested in by Wavve, planned by the Directors Guild of Korea (DGK) and MBC, and produced by Soo Film. Eight film directors each direct their own drama episode. Set in the near future, it tells the story of humans dreaming of a perfect society through new technologies. Various themes such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), robots, and games are also included.
The cast is also impressive. Star actors such as Moon So-ri, Lee Dong-hwi, Lee Yeon-hee, Lee Yoo-young, Ye Soo-jung, Yum Hye-ran, Lee Da-wit, Yoo-i, Choi Si-won, Choi Sung-eun, Kim Bo-ra, Hani, and Lee Si-young participated extensively in the project. SF8 received an official invitation from the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) on the 9th and held a special screening, attracting great attention inside and outside the industry. The work will be exclusively released first on Wavve and then broadcast on MBC in August.
