Gwanak-gu Conducts Quarantine Inspections at 778 Gosiwons in COVID-19 Blind Spots

Gwanak-gu Conducts Quarantine Inspections at 778 Gosiwons in COVID-19 Blind Spots

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is promoting on-site visits, inspections, and publicity for local gosiwons to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

This measure aims to establish a proactive prevention system for high-risk facilities in blind spots of management, as unexpected group infections have been continuously occurring recently.

Also, following the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters' risk assessment sample inspection results showing relatively insufficient quarantine management in gosiwons, a proactive full inspection of gosiwons has been initiated.

The district will organize over 130 staff members into pairs to directly visit and inspect a total of 778 gosiwons in the area from the 10th to the 14th over three days, while also promoting awareness.

The inspection team will distribute COVID-19 gosiwon quarantine guidelines, request managers to promote and comply with the guidelines, conduct inspections according to the checklist, and provide 800 hand sanitizers.

The inspection items include ▲designation of a quarantine manager ▲facility disinfection ▲availability of hand sanitizers ▲visitor log maintenance ▲ventilation at least twice daily, among others.

In particular, they will focus on checking compliance with quarantine guidelines such as whether a quarantine manager is designated and whether shared spaces like kitchens, laundry rooms, and restrooms are disinfected at least once daily.

Mayor Park Junhee said, “We will thoroughly prepare for small-scale group infections through proactive on-site inspections of gosiwons and advance prevention of high-risk facilities. We will do our best to operate a meticulous quarantine system and create a safe Gwanak without any blind spots in quarantine.”
