According to the police and Seoul city officials, Mayor Park was last seen leaving the mayoral residence located in Gahoe-dong, Jongno-gu, at around 10:44 a.m. that day. At the time of his departure, Mayor Park was wearing a dark-colored jumper, black pants, gray shoes, and a black hat, carrying a black backpack.
Mayor Park was scheduled to meet with Kim Sa-yeol, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development, at the mayor’s office at 4:40 p.m. to discuss regional balanced development with a focus on Seoul-region cooperation. However, Seoul city announced the cancellation of the meeting at around 10:40 a.m. that day.
According to mobile phone location tracking, the signal from Mayor Park’s phone was last detected somewhere in Seongbuk-gu before it was lost.
