According to the Jeonbuk Sports Council on the 9th, Jeonbuk athletes performed well by shooting golden arrows at the recently held "37th Chairman's Cup University and Corporate Archery Competition Commemorating Olympic Victory" in Yecheon, Gyeongbuk.
At this competition, archers from Jeonbuk Sports Council, Jeonbuk Provincial Office, Hanil Jangsin University, and Jeonju University participated, winning 6 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal.
Lee Ho-bin, affiliated with the Provincial Sports Council, won a gold medal in the men's 50m distance event, and Kwak Jin-young (Jeonbuk Provincial Office), Jang Min-su (Hanil Jangsin University), Kim Yeon-ji (Jeonju University), and Kim Kwang-seop (Hanil Jangsin University) also reached the top.
In particular, Lee Ho-bin tasted victory by scoring a total of 348 points, narrowly defeating second-place Jeong Tae-young (Doosan Heavy Industries) by 1 point, and Hanil Jangsin University swept the team event.
Additionally, Kwak Jin-young (Jeonbuk Provincial Office) and Lee Chang-min (Hanil Jangsin University) each won silver medals in the individual event and the 50m distance event, respectively.
Yoo In-tak, Secretary General of the Provincial Sports Council, said, "The athletes did not lose focus and gave their best until the end, resulting in good outcomes. I am proud and pleased that the archery athletes, who had been stagnant with poor results, have grown remarkably."
The Chairman's Cup Archery Competition Commemorating Olympic Victory was established to honor Seo Hyang-soon, who won Korea's first Olympic gold medal in archery at the 1984 LA Olympics, and to wish for the development of Korean archery.
