According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters on the 9th, as of noon that day, 10 new confirmed cases related to a door-to-door sales meeting in Gwangju were newly identified, bringing the cumulative number of cases to 105. Two new cases each were confirmed in relation to Hanul Nursing Home, Gwangju Ilgok Central Church, and SM Sauna, and four new infections occurred at a mobile phone store related to the workplace of a confirmed case from Ilgok Central Church.
Separately, six additional confirmed cases were reported in connection with the private academy in Dong-gu, Gwangju, where a cluster infection occurred, increasing the cumulative number of cases to 12. Two new cases were also found related to The Joeun Clinic in Seo-gu, Daejeon, raising the total to 12.
Cases have continued to emerge steadily in previously identified metropolitan area clusters. One additional confirmed case was reported among church members related to Wangseong Church in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, bringing the total confirmed cases to 39. One new case was added related to a financial company in Gangnam-gu, increasing the total to 8. One more confirmed case was identified in connection with the metropolitan area door-to-door sales meeting, which is linked to church member gatherings in Suwon and Wondang Catholic Church in Goyang. Additionally, a connection was confirmed with the Happyrang Healing Center in Gunpo, increasing the cluster cases to 34.
As of midnight on the same day, 22 cases were imported from overseas, with the Americas region accounting for the largest number at 8. Kazakhstan had 6 cases, Uzbekistan 3, and the Philippines 2. Iraq, Russia, and Africa each had one case. Among them, 5 were Korean nationals and 17 were foreigners. During the previous day, 157 vessels arrived at 11 ports nationwide, and boarding inspections were conducted on 55 vessels.
