[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 9th that it will supply 2,928,000 public masks nationwide.
By supply source, 1,975,000 masks were supplied to pharmacies nationwide, 80,000 masks to Nonghyup Hanaro Mart excluding Seoul and Gyeonggi areas, and 108,000 masks to post offices located in Daegu, Cheongdo, and each eup and myeon. Medical institutions were given priority with 765,000 masks supplied.
Until the public mask system ends on the 11th, consumers can purchase health masks at pharmacies, Nonghyup Hanaro Mart, and post offices without duplicate purchase verification procedures or quantity restrictions.
From the 12th, the system will shift from public supply to market supply, allowing consumers to buy health masks at various sales outlets such as pharmacies, marts, convenience stores, and online.
However, for surgical masks used in medical institutions, the current public supply system will be maintained.
