Shin Hyun-jun's Side "Will Organize and Announce Position Soon"
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Actor Shin Hyun-joon's former manager has revealed that he suffered unfair treatment and power abuse for 13 years.
Kim, the former manager and CEO, claimed in an interview with Sports Today on the 9th that he experienced power abuse during the 13 years working with Shin Hyun-joon.
According to CEO Kim, when he was a road manager, he received a monthly salary of only 600,000 won for two years, and after becoming CEO, 20 managers were replaced over 7 to 8 years.
He also alleged that Shin Hyun-joon frequently used abusive language such as "Do you have incompetence disease?" and "leper." Along with this, CEO Kim revealed text messages from Shin Hyun-joon containing the phrase "gaeXX" (a Korean profanity).
CEO Kim also claimed that Shin Hyun-joon's mother made unreasonable demands. He said, "If I was to wake him at 7 a.m., I had to get up at 5 to 6 a.m. and go to Shin Hyun-joon's house." He added, "At that time, Shin Hyun-joon was living with his mother, who prepared breakfast even for me. I thought she was being kind because I came early in the morning, but she got angry saying, 'Did you come here to eat?'" It was also reported that Shin Hyun-joon's mother made CEO Kim run errands such as personal car washing and grocery shopping.
CEO Kim pointed out issues with settlements as well. He stated, "We did not have a contract," and "Although I requested a contract, it was not accepted. The verbally promised 10% profit sharing was not fulfilled. I secured clothing and cellphone advertisements worth 200 to 300 million won, but the money I received was 2 million won."
In response, Shin Hyun-joon's side told multiple media outlets that "CEO Kim's claims are false" and "We will organize our position and make a statement soon."
Meanwhile, Shin Hyun-joon debuted in 1990 with the film 'General's Son' and became well-known to the public through films such as 'Bichunmoo,' 'Glory of the Family,' and 'Barefoot Ki-bong.'
