[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 9th that it has imposed 62,172 cases of regular property tax for July this year, amounting to 14.856 billion KRW.
This regular property tax increased by about 6% compared to last year due to factors such as the rise in individually announced land prices, apartment prices, and new or extended buildings.
Property tax is imposed on owners of properties such as houses, buildings, and ships as of the 1st of last month.
The payment period is from the 16th to the 31st of this month.
For housing property tax, half is imposed in July and the other half in September, but if the property tax amount is 200,000 KRW or less, the full amount is imposed in July.
Payment methods include visiting any bank nationwide or using deposit/withdrawal machines (CD/ATM) to pay with a bankbook or credit card without a bill.
Also, using Witax, Internet Giro, virtual accounts, ARS, or the Smart Bill app allows convenient payment without visiting financial institutions.
From this year, a local tax revenue account payment service has been introduced, enabling account transfers to local tax revenue accounts (electronic payment numbers) at 21 financial institutions without transfer fees.
A city official said, “Property tax is a representative local tax item that is used valuably for regional development. If not paid within the deadline, there is a 3% surcharge burden, and if the reminder deadline passes, disadvantages such as property seizure may occur, so please be sure to pay by September.”
