Lotte Homeshopping Expands Sales of Unique Domestic Travel Products

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 9th that it will expand sales of unique domestic travel products such as "hotel-style train travel" and "air tickets to famous tourist destinations." This expansion of domestic travel product sales is due to the surge in domestic travel demand as people refrain from overseas travel amid the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Sales of domestic travel products by Lotte Homeshopping in June (6.1~6.30), based on order volume, increased about twofold compared to the same period last year. The "L7 accommodation voucher," a lifestyle brand of Lotte Hotel sold in May, was sold out before the broadcast ended, and the "Golden Tulip Haeundae" accommodation voucher sold on the 3rd exceeded the target by more than three times.

Accordingly, Lotte Homeshopping plans to continuously introduce related products to meet consumer needs and revitalize the local economy as the peak vacation season approaches.

On the 12th at 6:30 PM, it will sell a 2-night 3-day nationwide tour ticket for the country's first hotel-style train, the "Rail Cruise Haerang." This is the industry's first offering through a business agreement signed on the 17th of last month between Lotte Homeshopping and Korail Tourism Development.

This travel product tours popular tourist spots such as Suncheon Bay and Haeundae in Busan, passing through Seoul, visiting local attractions and restaurants. Passengers can use various facilities on the train, including hotel-grade rooms equipped with beds and bathrooms and a caf? car offering unlimited meals, at no additional cost. To ensure safe travel, mask-wearing is mandatory in shared spaces, and rigorous COVID-19 prevention measures such as frequent disinfection are implemented.

From 6:40 PM on the 10th, air tickets to popular travel destinations such as Jeju Island and Busan will be sold for customers struggling to book domestic peak season flights. Customers who make reservations during the broadcast will receive benefits allowing them to purchase all Jin Air routes at reasonable prices.

At 7:40 PM, "Fairfield by Marriott" hotel accommodation vouchers will be sold. They can be used until March 31 of next year and are valid for consecutive or alternate stays at two locations, Seoul and Busan. Depending on room availability, convenience services for a hotel vacation such as room upgrades, early check-in (12 PM), and late check-out (2 PM) will also be provided. Unique travel content will continue to be introduced in the future to enhance customer satisfaction and support local economic recovery.

Park Hyung-kyu, head of Lotte Homeshopping's Living Division, said, "As the peak vacation season approaches, demand for safe domestic travel is increasing," adding, "We plan to expand products that meet diverse customer needs, such as premium accommodations and small-scale experiential content, in line with changing travel trends."
