Emart24 Partners with Tmoney and Cashbee for Half-Price Discount Promotion

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Emart24 announced on the 9th that it will hold a discount promotion where customers can purchase about 190 non-food items at half price when paying with prepaid transportation cards in partnership with T-money and Cashbee.


Emart24 planned this promotion to help customers using prepaid transportation cards purchase products economically, following an increase in transportation card recharge amounts since the transition to the daily social distancing system in May. The promotion will run until the 8th of next month.


According to Emart24's review of transportation card recharge amounts this year, the recharge amounts in May and June showed a recovery trend compared to the same period last year, with -27.4% and -1.2%, respectively.


Emart24 prepared the event by increasing the number of stationery items such as pens and mechanical pencils, which are frequently purchased by teenagers who often use prepaid transportation cards, to 115 items. It will also sell 31 hygiene products such as hand sanitizers and wet tissues, which have recently seen high demand, and 15 summer season items including foot covers and sun care products.


When paying with T-money (T-money Card/Mobile T-money/T-money Pay), customers can receive a 50% discount on a total of 145 items including 115 stationery products, 6 portable tissues, and 24 wet tissues.


A total of 46 items including 2 hand sanitizers, 9 sun care products, 6 foot covers, and 29 fashion accessories can be purchased at a 50% discounted price when paying with Cashbee transportation cards (Cashbee Card/Mobile Cashbee).


A 50% discount also applies to 1+1 and 2+1 products among the 192 event items, and KT membership discounts can be additionally applied. The daily discount limit is 8,000 KRW, allowing purchases up to 16,000 KRW per day.


Yoon Hunhee, buyer of the non-food team at Emart24, said, “This is an unprecedented event with a significantly enhanced discount rate compared to existing convenience store industry transportation card-linked promotions, so high customer response is expected.”
