[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 8th that four U.S. military personnel belonging to U.S. military bases in the area who recently entered the country tested positive for COVID-19.
A teenage male U.S. soldier (Pyeongtaek case number 75) tested positive on the day after being tested inside the base following his arrival through Incheon Airport the previous day.
Also, a female U.S. soldier in her 30s (Pyeongtaek case number 76) entered through Incheon Airport on the 6th, and two male U.S. soldiers in their 20s (Pyeongtaek case numbers 77 and 78) entered through Osan Air Base (K-55) on the 6th. They tested positive after being tested inside the base.
Pyeongtaek City confirmed that the additional confirmed cases were diagnosed while quarantined inside the base after entry, so there is no movement within the local area. This brings the total number of infections in the Pyeongtaek area to 78.
