[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] The ‘Jamboree National Representatives’ have been launched for the successful hosting of the 2023 World Scout Jamboree.

On the 8th, the Jeonbuk Office of Education held the ‘1st Jamboree National Representatives Launch Ceremony’ and announced that they will begin full-scale activities to ensure the successful hosting of the Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree.

At the launch ceremony, about 70 students from 5th grade elementary to 3rd grade high school, selected as Jamboree National Representatives, along with parents and leaders, attended to celebrate the first step.

The ‘Jamboree National Representatives’ serve as global Jamboree national promotional ambassadors for the Republic of Korea, tasked with raising interest in the Jamboree and increasing the number of Scout participants through active promotion.

They will also participate in various international exchange events and local events to promote the Jamboree, and will be given opportunities to join experiential programs and camping activities being developed in 14 cities and counties within the province.

An official from the Office of Education said, “The Jamboree National Representatives will raise awareness of the 2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree and serve as promotional ambassadors until the event,” adding, “It is expected that by sharing experiences among members of various regions and age groups, they will build bonds and develop communication skills as well as the ability to embrace diverse cultures.”
