[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Seo Young-seo] The Muan Fire Station in Jeonnam (Chief Park Won-guk) announced on the 8th at 2 p.m. that it conducted preliminary training for 119 Citizen Water Rescue Team waterfront safety personnel.


The 119 Citizen Water Rescue Team is composed of 30 volunteers and operates to ensure the safety of vacationers visiting local beaches.


After receiving preliminary education, from the 11th of this month to the 16th of next month, they will conduct preventive patrols and remove hazards at Topmori Beach and Holtong Beach.


The training was conducted by dividing personnel due to social distancing measures caused by COVID-19, including temperature checks, mask-wearing, and maintaining a distance of more than 2 meters between members.


The training content included ▲ overall operation of the Citizen Water Rescue Team ▲ water play safety guidance and use of safety facilities ▲ emergency treatment such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation ▲ waterfront rescue techniques such as rope use, all aimed at performing the role of protecting vacationers' safety.


Chief Park Won-guk expressed gratitude for the volunteer spirit of the 119 Citizen Water Rescue Team and said, “I hope they fulfill their role as local safety guardians.”
