DGB Financial Consoles Local Children Weary from COVID-19

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] DGB Financial Group comforted local youth.

On the 8th, DGB Financial announced that it will conduct an emotional support program for students exhausted by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

This 'Comfort Project' was prepared over about two years by 'Kkumnamu Education Project Group,' a social enterprise operated by DGB Financial, and the name symbolically incorporates the acronyms for 'Grow Up (UP),' 'Comfort,' and 'We Love Others (WELO).'

On this day, for first and second graders at Daegu Hyodong Elementary School, a 'Mind Prescription Kit' class was held to comfort children whose spirits have been dampened by COVID-19, along with a 'Dream Doll Making' activity to share emotional connections with peers.

DGB Financial plans to safely carry out this program while strictly adhering to quarantine guidelines, targeting 63 classes across 36 schools starting with Hyodong Elementary School this year, to support the emotional stability of children and adolescents undergoing significant environmental and social changes due to COVID-19.

Kim Tae-oh, Chairman of DGB Financial, said, "We are pleased to be able to support local children and youth exhausted by COVID-19 through the Comfort Project, and we will develop various non-face-to-face programs and untact content in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era."
