[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] Jeonbuk Province is holding a travel essay contest for the entire nation and local government officials under the theme "Our Jeonbuk Travel Story, the Place We Want to Visit."
According to Jeonbuk Province on the 8th, the contest aims to discover hidden tourist attractions in Jeonbuk, actively promote their charm, stories, and travel information, and to encourage the special travel week from the 1st to the 19th as well as the 2.5-day weekend leave system (early leave on Friday and Saturday-Sunday) activation.
The contest categories involve discovering lesser-known tourist spots within Jeonbuk’s 14 cities and counties, and naturally introducing impressions from visiting these spots for more than one night and two days with family, lovers, friends, or alone, including special stories and programs related to the attractions.
The submission period is from the 9th until September 30, and the eligible participants are divided into two categories (general and local government officials from Jeonbuk Provincial Office and 14 cities/counties), with the condition of staying overnight for at least one night and two days in Jeonbuk. However, if the COVID-19 spread within the province becomes concerning, the contest may be closed early.
The total prize money is 5 million KRW, with 3.5 million KRW for the general category and 1.5 million KRW for the government officials category, provided as Onnuri gift certificates. General participants can apply via a Google survey, and government officials can apply by submitting an official document to the Tourism General Division of Jeonbuk Provincial Office. Detailed information will be announced through the ‘Jeonbuk Tour Pass’, ‘Jeonbuk Total Tourism’ websites, and SNS.
