[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The police have forwarded a woman who filed a false accusation complaint against singer Kim Gun-mo (52) to the prosecution with a non-prosecution opinion.
On the 8th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sent Ms. A, who is suspected of false accusation and other charges, to the prosecution with a non-prosecution opinion the day before.
Ms. A, who appeared on the YouTube channel "Garosero Research Institute" operated by lawyer Kang Yong-seok and others last December, claimed, "I was sexually assaulted by Mr. Kim at a bar in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in August 2016," and filed a complaint against Mr. Kim on the 9th of the same month. In response, Mr. Kim filed a countersuit for defamation and false accusation.
A police official explained the reason for forwarding the case with a non-prosecution opinion, saying, "We did not find any significant evidence in the part where Mr. Kim claimed it was a false accusation."
