[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Singer An Ye-eun mentioned earning copyright royalties in the hundreds of millions of won.

On the 7th, the MBC Every1 variety show 'Video Star' aired a special episode titled 'Rare Item Special! Logged in as Your Main Character,' featuring singers Yang Joon-il, Gong Min-ji, Solji, Jamie (Park Ji-min), and An Ye-eun as guests.

On this day, MC Kim Sook asked An Ye-eun, "I heard your copyright royalties are at the level of a large corporation manager's annual salary. Is it true that you earn about 100 million won a year?"

In response, An Ye-eun said, "I was surprised too. I felt I chose my major well," adding, "'So this is how much a large corporation manager earns,' 'That's quite a lot,' I thought."

She continued, "Thanks to that, I also pay a lot in taxes," to which MC Kim Sook acknowledged, "Okay, if you're worried about taxes, it means you're earning a lot."

When asked which song brings in the most royalties, An Ye-eun replied, "'Hongyeon' from the album is a real breadwinner," and "The second breadwinner is the song 'Sangsahwa.' Thanks to trot singers like Lim Young-woong covering it a lot."

Regarding where the most royalties come from, she said, "I heard karaoke rooms are the strongest source, but the first verse has to be passed," which drew laughter.

Meanwhile, An Ye-eun was the runner-up on SBS's audition program 'K-pop Star 5' aired in 2016. She has released a total of three full-length albums to date and has participated in numerous drama OST projects, including 'The Rebel.'
