[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] BMW Korea officially launched the BMW New 330e, a plug-in hybrid sports sedan that offers excellent fuel efficiency and driving enjoyment simultaneously, in the domestic market on the 8th.

The New 330e, a plug-in hybrid model of the New 3 Series sedan, is a sports sedan that can drive in pure electric mode for short distances and operate as a hybrid vehicle combining gasoline and electric motors for sporty driving or long-distance travel. BMW Korea has completed the full lineup of the New 3 Series by adding the PHEV model following gasoline, diesel, and M Performance models.

The New 330e is equipped with an electric motor delivering up to 113 horsepower and a high-voltage battery with a capacity of 12kWh. When the battery is fully charged, it can travel up to 40 km on electricity alone, allowing quiet driving in electric vehicle mode for short trips and commuting. The top speed in electric mode is 140 km/h.

In addition, the BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder gasoline engine harmonizes to produce a combined maximum output of 292 horsepower and a maximum torque of 42.8 kg·m, reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in just 5.9 seconds. Especially in sports mode, using the 'Xtraboost' function provides an additional 41 horsepower for up to 10 seconds, delivering more powerful and immediate acceleration performance.

Despite its outstanding power performance, the New 330e has a combined fuel efficiency of 16.7 km/ℓ and, as an eco-friendly vehicle, benefits from exemptions on congestion charges in the Namsan Tunnel and a 50% discount at public parking lots nationwide.

All trims of the New 330e come standard with convenience features such as LED headlights, a 3-zone air conditioning system, Comfort Access 2.0, sunroof, ambient lighting, and wireless charging, along with advanced technologies supporting safe driving, including BMW Live Cockpit Professional, head-up display, parking assistant, and driving assistant.

Furthermore, selecting optional packages adds features such as BMW Laser Headlights, Driving Assistant Professional, Parking Assistant Plus, and Harman Kardon sound system depending on the configuration, and the M Performance Parts installation allows for a sportier upgrade in both exterior and performance.

The price is 62.6 million KRW for the New 330e Luxury and 64.6 million KRW for the New 330e M Sport (based on a 3.5% individual consumption tax rate).
