[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] Singer Jamie (Park Ji-min) expressed her gratitude to Park Jin-young, the head of her former agency JYP Entertainment.

On the 7th, the MBC Every1 variety show 'Video Star' featured singers Ahn Ye-eun, Jamie, Yang Joon-il, Solji, and Gong Min-ji.

During the broadcast, Jamie revealed that she received an apology from Park Jin-young shortly before leaving JYP Entertainment.

She said, "It was about two days before my contract ended when he said, 'I wanted to try many things, but since you were good at this and that, I was worried about which direction to guide you.' He also said, 'I'm sorry for not being able to find the direction sooner.'"

She added, "I think the PD waited for me for two years. Without forcing me, he told me to find what I wanted to do and was very considerate, so I was able to find my musical identity. I'm thankful."

She continued, "I was really touched when the PD apologized. I never thought he would have such thoughts. It felt like I heard his sincerity at that moment."

Jamie also shed tears while sending a video letter to Park Jin-young.

She said, "This is the first time I’m writing a video letter after changing companies. He never forced me and always gave me kind words, so I found the music I want to do. I’m really grateful. Please watch over Jamie, who will perform cool and honest music on stage from now on. I love you," shedding tears.

Jamie, who won SBS audition program 'K-pop Star' Season 1 in 2011, officially debuted in October 2012 as part of 15& with Baek Yerin.

She began her solo career in April 2015 and left her former agency JYP Entertainment last August.

Jamie, who was active under her real name Park Ji-min, changed her stage name when she moved to Warner Music Korea in April this year.
