25% Reduction in Road Occupancy Fees in Seongbuk-gu

Economic Vitality Boosted by Partial (25%) Road Occupancy Fee Reduction for All Private Businesses and Individuals to Support Economic Crisis Response Amid Prolonged COVID-19 Pandemic

25% Reduction in Road Occupancy Fees in Seongbuk-gu

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) will reduce 25% of the 2020 road occupancy fees for private business owners and individual road occupancy fee payers who are facing economic difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Road occupancy fees are usage fees imposed on those who occupy and use a part of the road. This measure is being implemented to alleviate the difficulties experienced by residents due to COVID-19 and to revitalize the local economy.

Seongbuk-gu plans to implement a 25% reduction in July for 1,783 cases of road occupancy fees imposed on private business owners and individuals, totaling approximately 440 million KRW in reductions.

For those who have already fully paid the road occupancy fees, 25% of the payment amount will be refunded, and for those who have not paid, a 25% reduction will be applied and new bills will be issued.

Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, “We hope this helps reduce the economic burden on residents facing difficulties due to COVID-19 and revitalizes the local economy.”
