Overall Operation of the Professional Team Including Civil Complaint Handling Process and Athlete Human Rights Protection System

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 7th that it will conduct a special audit targeting Gyeongju City and the Gyeongju City Sports Council to clearly investigate the case of the late triathlon athlete Choi Sook-hyun.
This special audit is in response to a cooperation request from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The audit team, consisting of five members including three from Gyeongsangbuk-do and two from the Gyeongsangbuk-do Sports Council, will review the operation status of the professional teams for 10 days starting from the 8th.
After auditing the overall operation status, including the appropriateness of handling civil complaints and the athlete human rights protection system, Gyeongsangbuk-do explained that if any cases of human rights violations are confirmed, they will be dealt with strictly.
Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, pledged, "Through a thorough investigation of this case, we will clearly identify the truth and eradicate the abnormal human rights violation practices such as violence and verbal abuse that have been widespread within the sports community as soon as possible, and do our best to prevent such incidents from recurring."
