Gokseong-gun Launches Cashback Event for Gokseong Simcheong Gift Certificates

Simcheong Gift Certificate: Receive a 10,000 Won Gift Certificate When Spending Over 100,000 Won in a Day

Gokseong-gun Launches Cashback Event for Gokseong Simcheong Gift Certificates

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 7th that it will start the ‘Gokseong Simcheong Gift Certificate Cashback Event’ from the 13th to revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and to promote gift certificate consumption.

This event was planned to promote the use of gift certificates, increase sales of local small business owners, and revitalize the local economy through the activation of the local commercial district.

The cashback event will be held for 14 days from the 13th to the 26th, and 1,000 residents who spend more than 100,000 KRW per day using Simcheong gift certificates during this period will receive 10,000 KRW worth of Simcheong gift certificates.

The combined amount of mobile and paper gift certificate payments is allowed, and the cashback will be given once per person during the event period on a first-come, first-served basis to 1,000 people.

Applications for cashback payments can be made at the local town or township office of the applicant’s address, and electronic receipts (cash receipts) from the same day’s payment must be presented.

In addition, to promote gift certificate usage, the county is continuously offering a 10% discount on mobile gift certificates and conducting monthly prize events for users who spend more than 5,000 KRW on gift certificates.

This year, Gokseong-gun issued 18.3 billion KRW in paper gift certificates and 1 billion KRW in mobile gift certificates, including policy gift certificates for COVID-19 livelihood stabilization.

In the future, an additional 700 million KRW worth of mobile gift certificates will be issued, which is about a 600% increase compared to the 3 billion KRW issued last year.

Since policy allowances are paid through local love gift certificates, the county revised ordinances and established regulations to prevent fraudulent distribution caused by large-scale circulation of gift certificates.

Strong prevention measures such as cancellation of registration, restriction on re-affiliation, limitation on discount sales, imposition of fines, and operation of a reporting system have been prepared, and dedicated staff have been assigned to monitor distribution status in real time through the integrated gift certificate management system.

Furthermore, compliance guidelines were provided to 930 affiliated stores in the area, and affiliate stickers and government disaster relief fund usage stickers were distributed.

A county official said, “We hope that the Gokseong Simcheong Gift Certificate will be of some help in stabilizing the management of local small business owners,” and added, “If you discover suspicious cases such as refunding gift certificates without purchasing goods or services, please contact the Simcheong Gift Certificate Fraud Reporting Center immediately.”
