Volkswagen Korea Launches All-Wheel Drive Model 'Arteon Prestige 4Motion'

'Model Year Update' Arteon 2.0 TDI Premium and Arteon 2.0 TDI Prestige Also Unveiled Together

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Volkswagen Korea will launch the all-wheel-drive model of the Arteon, the ‘Arteon 2.0 Prestige 4Motion,’ on the 7th. Along with this, they introduced two enhanced models, the ‘Arteon 2.0 TDI Premium’ and the ‘Arteon 2.0 TDI Prestige,’ completing a total of three lineups.

The Arteon is a model that completes the brand’s new design philosophy by combining a sedan with a sports coupe style. Since sales resumed in May last year, it has recorded an average monthly sales of about 700 units, enjoying the highest popularity among all Volkswagen Korea sedans to date.

The newly launched ‘Arteon 2.0 TDI Prestige 4Motion’ applies the latest 4Motion technology to effectively control front and rear-wheel drive depending on driving conditions, boasting excellent traction on any road environment. The existing model lineups, including the 2.0 TDI Premium and 2.0 TDI Prestige, have enhanced product competitiveness in various aspects such as the infotainment system, convenience features, and wheel design, reflecting the preferences of the younger 30-40 age group customers.

First, the interior active info display has been replaced with a new model. The upgraded display, with a sleek and simple design, significantly improves brightness and resolution, enhancing visibility. The display functions of the active info display have also diversified. Two versions of ‘Digital View,’ which show additional key driving information on the instrument panel display, have been added, and summary information that allows users to check various driving data at a glance from start to engine stop is also provided.

Convenience features have also been enhanced. Reflecting the needs of customers who frequently use digital devices, storage space has been increased and additional USB ports have been added. The Climatronic system now includes an auxiliary heater function to quickly raise the interior temperature during winter.

Stefan Krapp, Head of Volkswagen Division at Audi Volkswagen Korea, said, "The Arteon is a representative sedan loved by the 30-40 generation with discerning purchasing tendencies, as it combines design, performance, and the brand’s unique practicality. In particular, through the Arteon, which has been further upgraded with 4Motion that provides a completely new driving sensation, we will strengthen our attack on the premium sedan market."

The price of the Arteon 2.0 Prestige 4Motion is 61,139,000 KRW, the year-updated Arteon 2.0 TDI Premium is 53,241,000 KRW, and the Arteon 2.0 TDI Prestige is 58,175,000 KRW. (Including a 30% reduction in individual consumption tax and VAT). However, for some units cleared through customs by June, a 70% reduction rate in individual consumption tax will be applied.
