[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] On the 7th, it was announced that the mayor of Haman-gun, Gyeongnam, participated in the 'Stay Strong' campaign to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) on the 6th.
Mayor Jo Geun-je participated in this campaign after being nominated by Seo Chun-su, mayor of Hamyang-gun, and held a sign with the message "Overcoming COVID-19 Together with Haman-gun." He then nominated the next participants: Noh Hyun-song, mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul; Han Jeong-woo, mayor of Changnyeong-gun; and Park Gye-chul, chairman of the Haman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Stay Strong campaign is a relay public campaign supporting the overcoming and early end of COVID-19. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs initiated it in March to spread solidarity messages worldwide.
The campaign features an image of praying hands with soap bubbles added, along with the phrase "Stay Strong!" symbolizing the importance of thorough personal hygiene management to overcome COVID-19.
Through this campaign, Mayor Jo said, "I sincerely thank the residents who have actively cooperated with social distancing to overcome COVID-19 and have become the main agents of quarantine," adding, "Our county will continue to make every effort to prevent and contain the spread of COVID-19."
