The National Health Commission of China announced on the 7th that there were '0' new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Beijing on the 6th.
Since the 28th of last month, Beijing has maintained single-digit confirmed cases, and the prevailing expectation was that daily new confirmed cases would reach zero within this week. Chinese health authorities explained that COVID-19 is well controlled in Beijing.
Accordingly, the number of medium- and high-risk areas in Beijing has decreased to 23. Currently, there is 1 high-risk area and 22 medium-risk areas.
According to the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 11 million Beijing residents have undergone nucleic acid testing due to the cluster infection at the Xinfadi market.
Meanwhile, as of the 6th, there were 8 new confirmed cases nationwide in China, all of which were imported cases.
