[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 7th that it signed a 'Cultural City Promotion Business Agreement' at City Hall on the 6th to build consensus for promoting the Cultural City project in 2020.

The agreement signing was attended by the Director of Jinju City Culture and Tourism Bureau, the General Affairs and Customer Service Director of Korea Land and Housing Corporation, the Co-prosperity Director of Korea South-East Power Co., Ltd., the Director of the Humanities City Project Group at Gyeongsang National University, and the President of the Jinju Branch of the Korea Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations.

The agreement covers personnel exchanges, various consultations, and cooperation in operating programs related to the Cultural City to ensure smooth promotion of the 2020 Cultural City project.

The city held about 30 working-level promotion team and eup/myeon/dong working committee meetings this year to gather opinions for the selection of the Cultural City.

In particular, despite the difficult situation due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), efforts are being made to select one of the six Cultural Cities through gathering opinions from youth supporters, promotional activities, and operating the Jinju Ajima Sudabang.

A city official stated, “The Promotion Committee has also signed business agreements (MOU) for Cultural City promotion with about 20 public institutions, universities, and cultural and artistic organizations in the region, and this agreement was signed to express our commitment to the selection of the Cultural City.”
