[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Jung Yoon-mo, hereinafter Kibo) announced on the 6th that it held the 'Pre-Startup Package One-Day Networking Event' at the JW Marriott Hotel in Seocho-gu, Seoul, attended by about 100 people including senior entrepreneurs who grew through the '2019 Pre-Startup Package Support Project' and junior entrepreneurs selected as this year's support recipients.
The Pre-Startup Package, overseen by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, is a project aimed at facilitating smooth startups for young people under 39 years old with no prior startup experience. Kibo participated as the lead institution, selecting about 600 companies in general and social venture fields to provide funding, startup education, mentoring, and more.
With the slogan "We can overcome COVID-19. Cheer up Korea, cheer up youth," this event was organized to create a space for exchange and communication between senior and junior entrepreneurs, share necessary startup and business information and know-how with pre-entrepreneurs, and establish a cooperative system among entrepreneurs.
The event was divided into three parts: the first part featured presentations of success stories by senior entrepreneurs preparing for the non-face-to-face era due to the spread of COVID-19; the second part included a lecture by Kim Yoo-jin, CEO of SparkLabs, on "Startups and Investment," covering methods for pre-entrepreneurs to raise funds and attract investment; and the third part was a networking session between senior and junior entrepreneurs.
Director Baek Kyung-ho of Kibo stated, "Thanks to the active cooperation of challenging and passionate pre-entrepreneurs, the 2019 Pre-Startup Package project was successfully completed," adding, "Going forward, Kibo will continue to be a reliable partner for entrepreneurs starting new challenges and for Korea's overcoming of COVID-19."
