[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Korea Tourism Organization, in collaboration with the online video service (OTT) Netflix, released a special video titled 'Explore Korea' on the 7th, showcasing the unique beauty and charm of Korea featured in Netflix original content.
The video highlights Korea's traditional clothing, palaces, food, and other distinctive tourist attractions, illuminating various aspects that encompass the past and present, history and culture, as well as lifestyle. Notably, it includes popular Netflix Korean original content such as 'Kingdom,' which sparked global interest in traditional Joseon Dynasty attire, as well as 'Busted!' and 'Love Alarm.'
Additionally, original works that showcase Korea's diverse culture and trends appear, including 'Chef's Table,' 'Chef on the Road: Asia,' 'Travel with Feel, Just One Bite!,' and 'To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You.'
Netflix also provides an 'Explore Korea' search collection on its service, making it easier to find and enjoy the original content featured in the Korean promotional video. Users can access it directly by entering 'Explore Korea' in the Netflix search bar or visiting the webpage at netflix.com/explorekorea.
The Korea Tourism Organization plans to post the video on its official overseas promotional YouTube channel, as well as on social network services (SNS) operated by its headquarters and overseas branches.
Kim Young-hee, head of the Hallyu Tourism Team at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "The global Hallyu fanbase has a very high intention to visit Korea," adding, "We plan to strengthen the discovery of video tourism content and digital marketing so that people can indirectly experience traveling to Korea through K-dramas and movies."
