[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] A suspect who helped a man in his 40s, who assaulted a teenage girl to death after administering drugs in Cheonan, Chungnam in 2015, by participating in the secret burial has been arrested.

On the 6th, Cheonan Seobuk Police Station announced that they received Mr. A, who was booked on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act at Gangbuk Police Station that afternoon, and are investigating him on charges of corpse abandonment.

Mr. A is accused of assisting a man in his 40s who, on the morning of February 18, 2015, around 11 a.m., administered drugs to a woman he knew at a one-room apartment in Dujeong-dong, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan City, and then beat her to death with a blunt weapon, and subsequently abandoning the body.

It is known that Mr. A participated in the secret burial of the woman in the yard of an empty house in Inju-myeon, Asan City, using a bag together with the man in his 40s around 2 a.m. the next day after the incident.

The main perpetrator, the man in his 40s, was reportedly arrested in March 2016, a year after the incident.

Mr. A, who was wanted, was caught by police who were pursuing narcotics offenders.

A police official stated that they are conducting an investigation after taking custody of Mr. A.
