Volvo Transitions All Print Materials to Digital Platforms... "Preparing for Climate Change"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Volvo Cars Korea announced on the 6th that, as part of its climate-neutral action plan to reduce carbon emissions, it will convert all printed materials used for customer communication at all showrooms and service centers into digital platforms.

Volvo Cars Korea explained that this system was introduced in preparation for the global climate strategy plan to achieve climate neutrality by 2040. Accordingly, all printed materials used for customer communication at all domestic showrooms and service centers, such as product brochures, accessory leaflets, vehicle specification sheets within showrooms, and test drive agreements, will be converted to digital platforms on tablet PCs. Through this, they plan to reduce carbon emissions generated during paper production and printing processes.

The tablet PCs prepared at showrooms nationwide will also be used for electronic contract creation and signing, allowing customers to experience a more advanced sales process. Additionally, at service centers, maintenance consultations and signing procedures will be digitized through tablet PCs, and customers will receive maintenance estimates and inspection statements in PDF format via text message or email instead of printed materials. However, documents with legal binding force, such as financial product contracts and insurance, will remain in printed form.

Yoon Mo Lee, CEO of Volvo Cars Korea, stated, “At a time when interest in safety is higher than ever, it is time for everyone to start thinking together about a better future for our children.” He added, “As a global automaker, we will take responsibility not only for safety on the road but also for the safety of the Earth that the future speaks of, and we will continuously seek solutions that we can solve together.”
