"This Summer with Konjac" Daesang Cheongjeongwon Lightly Launches 3 Types of 'Konjac Noodles'

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Sunghye] Daesang Cheongjeongwon's online specialty brand ‘Lightly’ announced on the 6th that it has launched three types of ‘Konjac Noodles’ made primarily from konjac.

Lightly, launched by Cheongjeongwon in May, is a daily eating habit brand designed to let consumers enjoy various dishes they usually like in a delicious and light way. The newly introduced products include ▲Konjac Mul Naengmyeon (cold noodles) ▲Konjac Spicy Bibim Noodles ▲Konjac Noodles, all three featuring konjac, which is gaining attention as a diet food due to its relatively low calories and ability to provide a quick feeling of fullness.

The new products maximize the chewy texture unique to konjac noodles by making them in a flat noodle shape, applying wide noodles so that the sauce can fully soak into the noodles. Additionally, they contain ‘Fibasol-2L,’ a water-soluble dietary fiber ingredient, allowing consumers to easily enjoy both taste and nutrition.

The refreshing and clean ‘Konjac Mul Naengmyeon’ consists of ‘Konjac Noodles’ and cold noodle broth, while the spicy-flavored ‘Konjac Spicy Bibim Noodles’ include ‘Konjac Noodles,’ spicy bibim sauce, and seaweed sesame flakes. The calorie count is 85 kcal per serving (based on Konjac Mul Naengmyeon), making it a perfect hearty meal when paired with boiled eggs or chicken breast. The ‘Konjac Noodles’ can be used in various noodle dishes such as pasta, jajangmyeon, and kongguksu, with only about 15 kcal per 180g pack, making it a low-calorie option.

Another advantage is the simple cooking process. After rinsing the noodles under running water and draining them, adding the included cold noodle broth or sauce completes the dish easily without heat cooking. At this time, removing as much moisture as possible from the noodles enhances the flavor of the sauce, and refrigerating both the noodles and sauce before eating cold makes it even more delicious.
