[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Two new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Daejeon.
According to Daejeon City on the 6th, a man in his 50s (#138) who was under self-quarantine in Galma-dong, Seo-gu, and a woman in her 60s (#139) residing in Jeongnim-dong, Seo-gu, were diagnosed with COVID-19.
Patient #138 was confirmed to have come into contact with patient #110 and was under self-quarantine. On the 4th, he developed symptoms such as fever and sore throat, underwent a COVID-19 test, and was finally confirmed positive on the 5th.
Patient #139, who was hospitalized at Deojoeun Clinic, developed symptoms including headache and muscle pain on the 2nd and was confirmed positive through testing on the 5th. This patient had contact with a female nursing assistant in her 40s (#126) at Deojoeun Clinic.
At Deojoeun Clinic, on the 2nd, patient #126 was confirmed positive, followed by three colleagues and one trainee who were also confirmed positive.
The city is currently conducting an epidemiological investigation to trace the movements of the confirmed patients and will disclose the routes on the city’s website once identified.
Meanwhile, a woman in her 70s (#125) who was confirmed positive in Daejeon passed away the previous day. This is the second COVID-19 related death in the region. She had contact with patient #88 and was confirmed positive on the 2nd. It was reported that she showed signs of pneumonia upon admission to Chungnam National University Hospital.
