Yangcheon-gu Supports 749 Pregnant Women with Eco-Friendly Agricultural Product Packages

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) will support 749 pregnant women in the area with an "Eco-friendly Agricultural Products Package" worth 240,000 KRW over six months.

The "Eco-friendly Agricultural Products Package" is a project that provides eco-certified agricultural products, some livestock products, and processed foods to pregnant women in Yangcheon-gu through an online mall.

The beneficiaries are 749 mothers who gave birth after January 1, 2020, and currently pregnant women. Support will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis until the end of this year, with approximately 240,000 KRW per person (with a personal contribution of 48,000 KRW).

Pregnant women who wish to apply must submit a resident registration certificate and pregnancy/birth verification documents (such as a pregnancy confirmation letter and birth certificate) on the "Seoul Farmer Portal" from 10:00 AM on July 6 to 6:00 PM on December 15. Those currently receiving benefits from the Nutrition Plus program are restricted from receiving duplicate support based on the application date.

If selected as a beneficiary on a first-come, first-served basis, they can purchase eco-friendly agricultural products through the designated online mall. The packages are operated in three types: ▲ Selective type (pregnant women directly order the items they need) ▲ Completed type (packages composed according to price range items) ▲ Program type (apply for a 3 to 12-month program at once and receive delivery without separate orders).

Orders can be placed up to twice a month, with each order between 30,000 KRW and 60,000 KRW. When ordering, 80% of the amount is supported, and the applicant pays 20% as a personal contribution, with direct delivery to the address.

Mayor Kim Soo-young said, "Through this project, we expect to help farms struggling due to COVID-19 and enable pregnant women who find it difficult to go out to safely receive fresh eco-friendly agricultural products at home and enjoy a healthy life."
