Hyundai Engineering "Selected as Construction Contractor for Suwon Gwonseon District 1 Reconstruction"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Hyundai Engineering has secured the construction rights for the 'Suwon Gwonseon District 1 Reconstruction Maintenance Project.'

Hyundai Engineering announced on the 5th that it was selected as the final contractor at the general meeting of members of the Suwon Gwonseon District 1 Reconstruction Maintenance Project held on the 4th, marking the first urban maintenance project contract in the second half of this year.

This project involves reconstructing the old Dongnam Apartment at 361 Seodun-dong, Gwonseon-gu, Suwon, into a complex with 2 basement floors and 15 above-ground floors, totaling 442 households. The construction cost is approximately 87.9 billion KRW. The number of households by exclusive area is 148 units of 51㎡, 220 units of 59㎡, and 74 units of 74㎡. About 80 units out of the total 442 households will be available for general sale.

Gwonseon District 1 offers easy access to the metropolitan area center via the Gwacheon-Bongdam Urban Expressway and is adjacent to Hwaseo Station on the Seoul Metropolitan Subway and Seosuwon Intercity Bus Terminal. The Shinbundang Line extension (Shinbundang Line Hwaseo Station) is planned to be constructed. Guun Elementary School is located within a 5-minute walk, and Guun Middle School, Yulhyeon Middle School, Yulcheon High School, and Sungkyunkwan University Natural Science Campus are also nearby.

The complex is surrounded by Yeogisan Park and Guun Park, with nearby waterfront parks such as Ilwol Reservoir and Seoho Lake.

Meanwhile, with this contract for the Suwon Gwonseon District 1 Reconstruction Maintenance Project, Hyundai Engineering recorded urban maintenance project orders worth 1.09 trillion KRW in 2020. A Hyundai Engineering official stated, "Based on a high credit rating (AA-), abundant liquidity, and construction quality, we have joined the 1 trillion KRW club for urban maintenance performance this year, securing one of the top urban maintenance project records among major domestic construction companies. We will do our best to showcase the best complex representing Gwonseon-gu by fully mobilizing Hyundai Engineering's architectural capabilities."
