Jeju Air Disinfects In-Flight Restrooms During Flights... Minimizes Contact

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Jeju Air announced on the 5th that it will be the first domestic airline to switch its services to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by disinfecting the restrooms on operating aircraft.

Jeju Air will first operate under the 'SAFE' system, emphasizing hygiene (Sanitary), social distancing (Avoided), friendliness (Friendly), and emotional care (Emotional) in its in-flight cabin crew services.

As part of this, from today, on all operating routes, the airline will use disinfectant spray to sanitize the inside of aircraft restrooms and restroom handles during flights, changing the service operation method to minimize in-flight contact.

Unlike the previous method of placing products on carts for sale in the in-flight Air Cafe, from today, products will be sold individually upon customer request. Additionally, when purchasing products, passengers will insert their cards directly into the payment terminal to reduce contact possibilities.

The cabin crew's working areas will also be divided into the front and rear of the aircraft, providing services only within their designated zones. Furthermore, the in-flight Air Cafe will sell portable disinfectant spray (9,000 KRW), hand sanitizer (5,000 KRW), and 3D masks (5,000 KRW) to help customers maintain hygiene.

A Jeju Air official stated, "Since the aircraft restroom is a shared space for passengers on the flight, disinfection will be conducted during the flight to maintain cabin hygiene," adding, "We will strive to provide careful service to each customer while maintaining physical distance for a healthy and safe journey."
