[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun emphasized on the 5th, "If violations such as not wearing masks are confirmed at facilities where compliance with quarantine rules is mandatory (high-risk facilities), legal responsibility will be strictly imposed not only on the business owners but also on the users."

On the same day, Prime Minister Chung presided over the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters meeting on COVID-19 at the Government Seoul Office and stated, "Only when each individual thoroughly follows the quarantine rules can the spread of COVID-19 be prevented."

He also said, "If the infection spreads to others or the community due to the confirmed patient's intentional or gross negligence, we will actively exercise the right of recourse such as recovering medical expenses or claiming damages," adding, "Furthermore, to enable prompt administrative measures against individuals violating quarantine obligations, we will also promote amendments to related laws, including the establishment of fines."

Referring to the record high of 210,000 daily confirmed cases worldwide as of July 4, Prime Minister Chung ordered, "Relevant ministries and quarantine authorities should review additional measures to strengthen the management of inbound travelers."
