[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] In celebration of the ‘Korea Companion Sale,’ domestic automakers are actively launching discount events. An industry insider advised customers to carefully check the benefits before purchasing a new car, as discounts of up to 10% are expected.
Hyundai Motor Company is offering a special limited contract deposit support of 200,000 KRW to the first 10,000 customers who sign a contract for The New Santa Fe through the Companion Sale promotion. Along with this special support, price discounts are available for models such as the Veloster (excluding N version, 10%), Ioniq Electric (3?10%), Sonata (excluding hybrid, 3?5%), and older Santa Fe models (5?7%).
Commercial vehicles are also discounted. Hyundai offers up to 10% off the regular price on about 900 units across seven models including Mighty and County. Additionally, 400 customers who take delivery will receive vacation expenses worth 100,000 KRW.
Kia Motors provides up to 10% discount benefits or a special low-interest rate of 1% for 36 months on 10 popular models including K3, Sportage, Niro HEV, and Carnival, available to the first 5,000 customers.
With these benefits, discounts can reach up to 600,000 KRW for Morning, 850,000 KRW for K3, 1,500,000 KRW for Sportage, 800,000 KRW for Niro HEV, and 2,100,000 KRW for Carnival.
Additionally, individual or sole proprietor customers who donated blood during the first half of the year and submit their blood donation certificates will receive an extra 100,000 KRW discount on all passenger cars, RVs, and Bongo models.
Renault Samsung Motors offers customers purchasing the XM3 on installment plans a low-interest rate benefit of 3.5% for up to 36 months or 3.9% for up to 72 months. Customers buying The New QM6 can choose between purchase support worth up to 1,500,000 KRW or cash support up to 500,000 KRW. SM6 cash buyers can receive a discount of 2,000,000 KRW. Additionally, medical workers, national veterans, public officials, and educators are eligible for an extra 500,000 KRW discount.
Korea GM Chevrolet offers discounts limited to 1,000 units of Spark at 10%, 100 units of Malibu Diesel at 15%, 100 units of Trax at 10%, and 100 units of Equinox at 7%. Separately from the Korea Companion Sale event, they also provide support equivalent to the reduced individual consumption tax exemption benefits: 700,000 KRW for Malibu, 600,000 KRW for Trax, and 700,000 KRW for Equinox.
SsangYong Motor offers up to 10% discount limited to 2,500 units. The G4 Rexton can receive benefits up to 4,500,000 KRW. Also, for all SUV models including G4 Rexton, Korando, and Tivoli, there is a maximum 1,500,000 KRW discount to reduce the individual consumption tax burden.
Additionally, SsangYong, in cooperation with 11st, provides customized purchase benefits for contactless sales of all Tivoli models, including the ‘Godseongbi’ Limited Edition.
Customers wishing to purchase the newly introduced Limited Edition Tivoli can buy a 200,000 KRW discount coupon at half price (50% off) for 100,000 KRW on 11st until the 24th, which can be used when signing a new car contract. Upon purchasing the discount coupon, customers will be connected to a nearby showroom and can proceed with detailed purchase consultations including test drive applications with a dedicated auto manager (salesperson).
The Limited Edition, launched by SsangYong this month to mark the 5th anniversary of the Tivoli, comes with full-option level specifications as standard and is available for purchase at 22,800,000 KRW (gasoline model) with a limited 1,000 units and a 1,300,000 KRW discount.
Safety features include nine essential advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and six airbags as standard. Exterior features include full LED lamps and 18-inch diamond-cut wheels, while the interior features exclusive red stitch upholstery for a sporty feel. The comfort package, also standard, includes a 9-inch HD smart mirroring navigation system, heated and ventilated front seats, driver’s power seat with lumbar support, Hi-pass and ECM room mirror, and a wireless phone charging pad.
